A planning application has been submitted for a small solar farm adjoining the eastern side of West Chevington village with 70 ground mounted solar panels units with associated battery storage. The scheme offers a carbon capture concept within the ground beneath the solar panel installations. The site has good orientation to the south, is relatively concealed from the village and the surrounding area. The scheme will offer the opportunity for those participating dwellings within West Chevington to take advantage of an “off grid” electricity supply. The scheme does offer the possibility of all houses within the settlement avoiding the excessive inflation and high costs associated with day-to-day energy use into the future.
